#Plex port forwarding how to
I don't know if that is whats happening to me, and I don't know how to check, but if it is it might answer a few things.ĭoes anybody have any experience with this? Any experience with dealing with Telus Port Forwarding? Any experience getting Plex to work through telus? So after many more hours of researching I found out that Telus likes to do something called Double-NAT'ing. Using the application from, I typed in the port 32400 and lone and behold the port was still closed, even though my telus v1000h was saying it was forwarded successfully. My next step was to use an application to see if the port was successfully opened. I got a message saying that the changes where successfully applied, and all appeared to be ok, but I went back to plex and it still couldn't connect to the server from outside my network. So I went into my V1000's setup, which for telus is 192.168.1.254, and went ahead and port forwarded 32400, which is the port plex says to forward. So this is great, I have it set up, but I wont be able to view my library on business trips. " Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network" So I'm trying to set up Plex for the first time, and having some issues. So far, what I have found out is that Telus are a bunch of ass holes who don't make it easy, and refuse to help you in your port forwarding endeavors. I know very little about port forwarding, and I've spent all day researching how to port forward my Telus actiontec V1000H.
